Wow... I never realized how much fun it can be to go shopping and not look at price tags. Today I spent my $1000 universe cash at Macy's and on a trip to Chicago for this weekend.
At Macy's I bought a blue/black pair of "Not my daughter's jeans" that are absolutely gorgeous. They fit so well and the tummy panel is great. To go with it I got a soft and comfy cowl neck sweater, actually 2 of them - one in red and one in purple. The reviewers all said it was a warm and cozy kind of sweater and boy were they right. I really like them, and they look great paired with the new jeans. While I was there I bought a Coach purse. Yeah, I don't usually go for purses, but I figure the new look will go great with a new black purse. Its gonna be a little rough to get used to carrying a purse again, but then I don't have keys and a phone, etc in my pocket while we walk around Chicago this weekend. I only spent $365 at Macy's.
I reserved tickets at the Museum of Science and Industry for an Omnimax movie I think the kids will like, and paired with the admission tickets it was only $150. Considering the new "Toys" exhibit coming this weekend and the other things the kids will like - its well worth it. They'll be so excited. Also booked a hotel for this weekend, so we don't miss anything up there. I mean why drive home each day? A nice 5 star hotel in the loop. Maybe I can sneak some shopping in on Michigan Avenue while we're there. Found a great restaurant I want to try too - Big Bowl. The video looks great and so to the reviews.
The balance of today's Unverse Cash I am giving to Jesse to pick up random items for dinner so that I can cook on the fly. It was so much fun to do that last night - why not try again.
I have also planned a weekend getaway for next weekend for Jesse and I. Haven't paid for it yet but no worries. Flight leaves for Santa Ana at 6pm. We're staying at Marriot Laguna Cliffs Resort in their nicest Costal View Room. The view of the ocean will be wonderful compared to the view of the SNOW here. I also reserved an SUV for the trips into the mountains. All that is only $1300... I can't wait. I will make sure to go to the Korean BBQ, and maybe the Brazilian BBQ while we're there.
I can't wait to see what I find to buy tomorrow.
